Google street view is only available in google maps (maps.google.com) and only in certain locations. You can tell of the location is street view capable by dragging the little yellow man on the left side of the web site onto the street you would like to see. As an alternative to street view, you can use Bing Maps which has a "Birds eye view" and gives you an over head shot of a location from an airplane. In this case you go to local.live.com and zoom in on the area in question, then at the top in the drop down window select "birds eye view" and you will see a more detailed shot.
