Yes, agreed. The most important thing is you need a fast internet connection (broadband, at least DSL) and a machine with decent system memory. You don't need that good a video card (I've got a standard one in my laptop) although it helps.
I am able to zoom in on my neighborhood and see very good details, including cars parked in driveways. If I zoom in on most airports, I can see planes quite clearly. The amount of detail will depend upon which area you live in; there may not be sufficient interest in your area for a detailed satellite photo to have been taken. A major metropolitan area, like New York, will definitely have a lot of detail, where a rural area in North Dakota may not.
When you try to locate your street, put in your address followed by your zip code. The zip code will allow Google to locate your area quicker. How do i get to see my house on Google Earth Satellite or whatever its called...or are there any other good...
I think your problem is your computer and the ISP you are using. Google Earth is NOT a mapping program. It contains photos of the earth taken from satellites and planes over a period of several years. Some photos are in high resolution and you can see cars in driveways. Some are in low resolution and you can't even see a 300 foot shipwreck. Things will improve in time, but that's the way it is right now. Enter your town in the search box thus: mytown, mycountry. Don't forget the comma. Look for a landmark like a river or a major highway, then try to locate your street. You cannot type your street name in. I've found all the places where I live. Some are a blur and some have incredible detail. To benefit from Google Earth you must have a 3d card, lots of memory and a good internet connection. preferably ADSL.How do i get to see my house on Google Earth Satellite or whatever its called...or are there any other good...
Your problem is your computer. You need a 3D Graphics Card plus alot of Ram and the larger size monitor resolution for it to work properly. I have all 3 and I can see the top of my house and when viewing New York City it appears that I could be flying directly above the buildings etc.
